Plastics@thePalmer Artist Lecture: Rethink Plastics

Dianna Cohen, artist and CEO, Plastic Pollution Coalition

Los Angeles-based visual artist and curator Dianna Cohen is best known for her two- and three-dimensional works using upcycled plastic bags. She is also the CEO and co-founder of the Plastic Pollution Coalition, a global alliance of more than 600 organizations, businesses, research institutes, and thought leaders working together to stop plastic pollution. Cohen asks us to rethink our relationship with plastic at a time when sustainability is an international concern—and when artists have become major communicators of science to the general public.

Co-sponsored by the College of the Liberal Arts; Institutes of Energy and the Environment; Earth System Science Center; Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Rock Ethics Institute; and the Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art.
