Ned A. Brokloff Gallery

Paintings, sculpture, photography, and works on paper from 1945–1980.

In the years immediately following World War II, the United States emerged as a political, economic, and technological superpower. This gallery features thematic installations of painting and sculpture produced during the postwar era, including large-scale gestural abstractions, Color Field canvases, Pop art, and assemblage. Although abstraction dominated the artistic landscape in the decades following the war, naturalistic figurative painting, often on a grand scale, proved attractive to a new generation of realist painters whose work is well represented in the Palmer Museum of Art’s collection.
